My Favorite Time...So far!

Although, I do not have any pictures of this to post yet, my favorite time of the day with Little S is right after her bath. She really enjoys her baths, but is not so keen about the transition between the bath and getting out and dressed. But once she is dressed, she seems so alert and content with her surroundings. Her big blue, curious eyes are wide awake and she is just taking everything in. It seems like she has so much to tell me, if only I could understand. Sometimes I pretend she is telling me I'm doing fine. I just love it! Now don't get me wrong, I love every minute I have with her, this just happens to be among my favorites!!

Quick update. Little S is 6 weeks old. Her official due date came on Sunday (Jan 24)and she was still a little on the small side. I took her to the Dr. on Monday for a weight check and her Synagis shot (RSV prevention),she she hit the scales at 5 lbs 14oz and 19 3/4 inches long. She is now 1 lb heavier than when she made her debut into this world. Slowly but surely she is packing on those lbs! I'm definitely hoping for her to surpass the 6lb mark by her next visit, which isn't until Feb 15th so that gives her plenty of time.

Little GB is still loving his little sister with everything he has. Little S is now privledged enough to be considered a "Master." Did I mention he is now obsessed with Star Wars? I thank his dad every day for that one.

One Month!

I can not believe that my Little S has been with us for a month already. But when I think about it, I can't even imagine how we lived without her. She has already made a place for herself in our little family and everyone of us loves her more than words can say. Little GB just loves loves loves her and is very protective of her. He is such a good helper where she is concerned, he's so willing to get her a diaper, binky, and kisses. Whatever she needs Little GB is on it. Oh what a wonderful BIG brother he is. I took Little S to the Dr. yesterday and she is a whopping 5 lbs 7 oz and 19 inches long. She is slowly but surely packing on the lbs and pretty soon I think she'll be able to wear regular clothes. She has two "big girl" outfits that she can fit into. Yay! My friend J came over the other day to help me take some pictures of her in hopes of making it onto a birth announcement. Little GB also went to the Dr. for his 3 year well child visit. He is a whopping 33 lbs (60th percentile) and is 38 3/4 inches tall (80th percentile) and according to his Dr. is built like a TANK! His head size, even though they don't measure anymore is off the chart. (which it has been pretty much since he was born. ha ha) Here are a few of the pics we took and of course my Little GB.

My BEST Christmas present EVER!!

We had the best Christmas gift...we brought our little girl home! YAY!! I wasn't sure it was going to happen really. The dr. came in on Christmas Eve and told me we had a 75% chance of going home, but he didn't want to get my hopes up. He said he was going to put her back on the billirubin bed for the day just to get her billi levels down a bit more. We did that same thing with Little GB and it sort of set us back a few days...so I was thinking the same thing would happen with Little S. I came home on Christmas Eve to be with Little GB, since he is now aware of what Christmas is. We had a nice evening and we woke up to a phone call from the Dr. saying that he was comfortable enough to send her home. So we opened up presents with Griffen and let him play a little bit and then he went over to Grandma and Grandpa's house and away we went into the hospital to pick up our present! I was so excited. My (along with dozens of others) were answered!! It has been so nice to have my little family all under one roof. I took Little S to her regular pediatrician today and she is still on the little side. She weighs a whopping 4 lbs 9oz. So we are going to supplement her feedings even more. I was giving her a bottle with breast milk with formula added 2 times a day, now we are increasing that to 4 or 5 times a day to see if we can "bulk" her up. But all in all she is doing great!! Thank you to everyone for all of your well wishes, prayers, thoughts, emails, etc. We are truly blessed and know that we are being watched over and protected. This experienced has strengthened my faith quite a bit. Here are some recent pics of Little S and her big brother!!

Little GB and Santa Claus

There is just something magical about Christmas when you are able to share it with a three year old. This year Little GB really understood the whole concept of Christmas and our Christmas morning was full of excitement, smiles, and dreams come true. We had a very special visitor come over on Christmas Eve. Little GB wasn't quite sure what to do, his eyes were huge and he just stared at Santa. :) But he was really excited when Santa gave him new monkey "feety" pj's and a transformer car. Little GB had had a list of four items for about two months. I thought for sure he'd forget about a few things, but I underestimated him. He wanted Rocky the Robot Truck, Lightning McQueen Geo Tracks,a helicopter and a tractor. He must have a been a really good boy because he got everything on this list. He was so fun to watch his excitement. We were also able to share our Christmas morning with my brother Mac who was visiting from California. Here are some pictures...

Little S and Little GB

As promised, here are a few more pics of Little S as well as some of my Little GB. He is being quite the trooper. I think that he's getting more accepting of the factthat little sister is here. I can't wait until he can meet her and hold her. I am so thankful to have such wonderful children! (I'm still getting used to saying children instead of child). I am truly blessed!

Little S's first day

Little S's first night here in this world went rather well. I was able to feed her twice. She was awesome! She still had to get a little nose tube to supplement her feedings for now until she can eat on a regular basis and get enough. The dr's and nurses, and of course me are so amazed with how well she is doing! I hope that she continues on this path so that her big brother can finally meet her. I am not sure he'll like her too much at first, but I'm sure she'll grow on him. Here are few pics from her first day yesterday.

Here she is with her Daddy for the first time! I think the wrapping has begun. :)

Okay, so of course I'm not looking my best, but what can I say...I'm one proud Mama!

After a long and eventful night Little S is all tuckered out!
